Urban Integrated Solutions, Inc, part of the urban institute group of companies, participated in the opening of the German Accelerator to be located at the New York University's Urban Future Lab in Brooklyn.This will be the second German Accelerator in the US after Palo Alto. Eric Gertler on behalf of the New York Mayor's office and Dean Sreenivasan of NYU Poly opened the event.
Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy and Vice Chancellor of Germany Sigmar Gabriel, then officially inaugurated the German Accelerator location in New York. He already promised one more for next year in Boston, focussed on BioTech.
Before the event closed, Erwin Rezelman, CEO of [ui!] the urban integrated solutions, had a short discussion with Vice Chancellor Gabriel about [ui!]'s efforts in the US and in smart city overall. The Vice Chancellor actually welcomed the initiative of [ui!] and its co-founder and CTO of the urban Institute, Prof Dr. Lutz Heuser, to link between Europe and the US.
Heuser is both a key member of the European Innovation Partnership Smart Cities and Communities and the National Platform of Germany "City of the Future" while Erwin Rezelman represents the [ui!] group at the Smart City Council which is headquartered in the US.
